Who is responsible
This site, monotonevoice.com, runs itself and decides what happens to the little data described below. Questions or requests go to hello@monotonevoice.com.
Your voice and your answers
The pitch line asks for your microphone only when you press its button. The sound is turned into a pitch curve inside your browser, drawn on the page and then dropped: nothing is recorded, uploaded or kept. The yes or no questions are scored in your browser as well and are gone when you leave.
Visit statistics
We do not ask for your name or email. A short script counts page views and notes how far down the page you read, which app button you pressed, the address that linked you here, your browser language, your operating system and a random identifier stored in your browser, so one person reading twice is not counted as two. Your IP address is used to estimate country and region and is not stored in full.
Where the statistics go
The counts are sent to this site's own server first and passed on from there to an analytics provider, which stores them in the European Union. They help us see which parts of the page are useful. We do not sell them or share them with advertisers.
Storage in your browser
We set no cookies. Your browser keeps the random identifier, a session marker that expires after 30 minutes without activity, your light or dark choice and, if you hide it, the state of the small app bar at the bottom. Clearing site data for monotonevoice.com deletes all of it. If you block scripts or use a content blocker, the page still works and nothing is counted.
The app buttons
App buttons point to /voice-check on this site. That address reads your browser's user agent and forwards you: Android devices to the Confidently listing on Google Play, with the button's position passed along as a referrer, and all other devices to the App Store. Nothing about you is saved on the way. From the store onward, the privacy terms of Apple or Google and of the app apply.
Your rights
Write to the address above and we will remove anything tied to your random identifier. Because we never learn who you are, clearing this site's storage in your browser cuts the link straight away.
